The Press — The Healthcare Sector in Zarzis Suffers from Shortages
The healthcare sector in Zarzis is struggling with several shortcomings in terms of personnel and paramedical equipment. Fortunately, the two clinics in the city are filling this gap, but even they are not accessible to everyone due to equipment limitations. However, it's worth noting that in recent times, things have started to improve for the better in the city's healthcare sector.
In fact, the Ministry of Health, the Director General of Health Structures, and the Regional Health Director in Médenine have not hesitated to equip the Zarzis Regional Hospital with some essential necessities, including a scanner and an ophthalmologist, with an MRI machine and the appointment of a radiologist on the horizon.
This institution has also recently successfully performed two remote surgical interventions (thrombolysis for stroke) in collaboration with two doctors from Sfax.
And at the beginning of October, the hospital launched its telemedicine services, with a first successful examination against diabetes on Thursday, October 2.
