Firefighters Successfully Contain Blaze on Mount Sidi Zid
The firefighting teams of the Civil Protection unit of the Zaghouan governorate, in collaboration with the forestry services, successfully contained a fire on Mount Sidi Zid, located in the Zaghouan delegation, on Monday evening. The fire, which spread from a neighboring agricultural plot, ravaged one hectare of brushwood and cereal residues.
According to Hatem Rezgui, Regional Director of Civil Protection, in a statement to the TAP agency, the forest area affected by the fire is estimated to be around 1000 square meters.
Rezgui added that the intervention teams continued to carry out cooling and surveillance operations as a precautionary measure against any resurgence of the flames.
