Tunisian Champion Yassine Guenichi Wins Silver Medal at World Para Athletics Championships
Tunisian athlete Yassine Guenichi offered a new medal to Tunisia on Wednesday morning at the World Para Athletics Championships. He won the silver medal in the shot put final (F36 category) with a throw of 16.93m, setting a new African record. The Tunisian Federation for Sports for the Disabled announced the result on its official Facebook page, praising Guenichi's performance and highlighting the importance of this achievement, which honors national Paralympic sports. Guenichi finished just a few centimeters behind Russian athlete Vladimir Sviridov, who was crowned world champion with a throw of 17.01m, after a very tight duel until the penultimate attempt. This new achievement confirms the determination of Tunisian athletes to fly the national flag high in the biggest international competitions.
