Tunisian International Yan Valery Joins Young Boys on Loan
Tunisian international Yan Valery, who currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday in the English second division, has joined Swiss club Young Boys on loan until the end of the season without an option to buy, the Swiss Super League club announced on its social media channels on Monday.
Experience and Career
The 26-year-old right-back has a rich experience, having been capped 20 times by Tunisia. He was a starter in the last Africa Cup of Nations, held in December and January in Morocco. The player is aiming to participate in the World Cup scheduled for this summer in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, according to the Bern-based club, which currently sits 6th in the championship.
Background and Previous Clubs
Valery, who holds both French and Tunisian nationality, grew up in the Paris region and was trained at Stade Rennais before joining Southampton, where he launched his professional career. His career includes 43 appearances in the Premier League, 69 in the Championship, 30 in Ligue 1, and 35 in Ligue 2. Throughout his career, he has played for Southampton, Birmingham City, Angers, and Sheffield Wednesday, the latter of which currently occupies the last place in the English second division.
