Tunisian Wrestler Zeinab Sghaier Wins African Championship in 72 kg Category
Zeinab Sghaier, a Tunisian wrestler, has been crowned African champion in the 72 kg category at the African Senior Wrestling Championships held in Alexandria. Throughout the competition, Sghaier dominated her opponents, securing the gold medal and giving Tunisia a new continental title. This achievement solidifies the position of Tunisian women's wrestling on the African stage.
This victory is part of a remarkable collective performance by the Tunisian women's team, which won a total of three medals on the day. In addition to Sghaier's gold medal, Shahrazed Ayachi won the silver medal in the 50 kg category, while Lobna Aichawi took home the bronze medal in the 55 kg category.
In the men's category, Kheireddine Ben Tlili also contributed to Tunisia's results, winning a bronze medal in the 70 kg freestyle category.
