An Excellent Idea from Gafsa’s Tourism Authorities
The tourism officials of Gafsa have made a brilliant move by converting their thermal facilities into a high‑level sports complex. The new venue can host both tourists looking for a change of scenery and elite athletes—particularly in karate—a discipline that could attract even more sports in the future.
Historically dependent on phosphate, Gafsa—despite its many assets—has never fully tapped its untapped potential, which is now within reach.
Thanks to an exceptional climate, the region is incredibly rich in archaeological sites and historic ruins and also serves as the gateway to the Sahara.
This initiative is expected to encourage other regions to follow the same path.
