Market Rebound and Increased Supply in Bir El Kassaa

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Sofiane Tarmiz, CEO of SOTUMAG, announced that a dynamic and rebound have been recorded recently in the wholesale market of Bir El Kassaa in various products.

He specified that a significant shortage of tomatoes had been observed, with supply volumes ranging between 2 and 3 tonnes only. However, this issue has been recently resolved, and the supply rate has returned to normal. Today, the market has been supplied with 120 tonnes of tomatoes.

Speaking on the national radio, Sofiane Tarmiz emphasized that the company is working to increase supply levels on the markets.

Pricing Recovery

Regarding prices, the CEO of the Tunisian Wholesale Markets Society indicated that they are in the process of recovery.

He specified that the most practiced prices on the wholesale market have reached 2,500 millimes for tomatoes, 2,000 millimes for peppers, 1,000 millimes for potatoes, and 1,500 millimes for onions.
