World Health Organization (WHO) Statement on Autism and Paracetamol Use During Pregnancy
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared on Wednesday that there is currently no conclusive scientific evidence to confirm a potential link between autism and the use of paracetamol during pregnancy. In a statement, the organization added that no strong association has been established to date between autism and paracetamol use. Last Monday, US President Donald Trump linked autism to both childhood vaccination and the use of Tylenol (a popular pain reliever) by pregnant women, bringing unfounded allegations back into the center of American political debate, despite a lack of scientific evidence.
