Ministry of Trade and Export Development Announces Resumption of Poultry Supply and Pricing Adjustment Program
The Ministry of Trade and Export Development announced on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the resumption of its special program to adjust the supply and prices of poultry meat in the governorates of Greater Tunis, starting from last week.
Program Details
In a statement, the ministry specified that this measure aims to:
- Improve the purchasing power of citizens
- Strengthen the supply of basic products on the market
- Counter any attempts at artificial price increases The program will be extended to 13 other governorates starting this week.
Program Implementation
The program involves the direct distribution of chickens with an average weight of over 1.1 kg at a subsidized price of 8 dinars per unit. For the current week, the goal is to distribute over 18,000 kg of poultry meat in popular neighborhoods and priority areas, in coordination with regional, local, and security authorities. The ministry indicated that the program will continue in the coming weeks with an increased pace and quantities, and with the inclusion of more governorates and suppliers.
Success of the Program
The initial distribution operations have met with great success and have been well received by citizens, just like in the previous experience.
