Ministry of Agriculture to Establish Local Production of Parent Broiler Stocks
The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries is currently establishing a new project aimed at locally producing parent broiler stocks to ensure a stable supply of this product.
According to Fathi Ghrib, President of the National Chamber of Slaughterhouses and White Meat Processors, this project aims to produce between 25,000 and 26,000 parent stocks locally in Tunisia each year. This will avoid the need for the state to import them from Europe at a high cost.
The same source stated to Radio Monastir: "Today, thanks to its skills and administrations, Tunisia is capable of creating this important national project."
The President of the National Chamber of Slaughterhouses indicated that this project will be implemented on a large area exceeding 2,500 hectares and will benefit from all sanitary and logistical guarantees, in his words.
