Desert Regions and Border Towns Experience Heavy Rainfall

Several desert regions and border towns recorded 20 mm of rainfall on Tuesday evening, caused by the passage of a Saharan depression originating from Libyan and Algerian regions, which then affected southern Tunisia. This information was confirmed by Professor Amer Behhba, an agrégé professor of geography and meteorology expert.

In an interview on Diwan FM, he stated that the northern part of the country is currently experiencing significant meteorological disturbances, particularly in Jendouba and the Nefza delegation (Béja governorate), accompanied by a notable drop in temperatures. This trend is expected to intensify in the coming days due to the persistence of the depression over the northern governorates.

According to the specialist, the regions of Sejnane, Tabarka, Beni Mtir, Nefza, and Chetata will be the most affected in the coming hours. Rainfall totals could exceed 100 mm, with precipitation expected from Wednesday evening to the end of the week. The peak is forecasted for Thursday evening and Friday.
