Significant Atmospheric Change Expected in Tunisia Next Week
After a period of calm weather, Tunisia is preparing to experience a significant atmospheric change next week. The GFS and ECMWF meteorological models agree on the arrival of an atmospheric depression that will settle over the Mediterranean basin. This disturbance will direct humid and unstable air masses directly towards the country.
This configuration is conducive to precipitation, which may occasionally take on a stormy character. Forecasts indicate that the northern and central regions of Tunisia will be the most affected. It is the Northwest, including the regions of Jendouba, Béja, and Siliana, that is expected to receive the largest amounts of rain. The northern coastal regions, such as Tunis, Bizerte, and Cap Bon, will not be spared from these rains, although the intensity may be less strong than in the interior of the country. The influence of this depression will also extend to the north of Kairouan. This rainy episode marks the beginning of a wetter period. It is recommended to stay tuned to the forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) for more accurate information.
