National Meteorological Institute Issues Yellow Alert for Several Regions

The National Meteorological Institute (INM) placed several regions on yellow alert on Saturday due to expected weather disturbances. The affected governorates include:

  • Kef
  • Siliana
  • Kairouan
  • Kasserine
  • Sidi Bouzid
  • Sfax
  • Gafsa
  • Gabès

According to the INM, Saturday's weather is marked by the appearance of local thunderstorm cells, accompanied by:

  • Sometimes intense rainfall
  • Isolated hail showers
  • Strong winds that can temporarily exceed 60 km/h, particularly in gusts and under thunderstorms

The yellow alert level implies a need for particular attention, especially for activities sensitive to weather conditions. It addresses both the general public and:

  • Civil protection services
  • Health authorities so that they can alert, mobilize, and prepare intervention teams and health structures.

The INM reminds us that the alert map is updated at least twice a day, at 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and allows for the reporting of meteorological dangers that may affect one or more governorates within the next 24 hours.
