China and Tunisia Discuss Direct Flights to Boost Bilateral Connectivity
In an exclusive interview with La Presse de Tunisie, H.E. Wan Li, the Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia, discussed ongoing talks regarding the establishment of direct flights between China and Tunisia.
According to the ambassador, the two countries maintain close communication on this matter, which could significantly enhance bilateral connectivity and facilitate tourism and economic exchanges.
However, the implementation of such links primarily depends on airlines and their economic viability, particularly in terms of load factors and profitability.
At this stage, no decisive progress has been made towards creating a regular direct route.
The ambassador suggests that a more realistic alternative in the short term would be the development of seasonal or charter flights tailored to periods of high tourist demand, such as Chinese holidays and favorable tourist seasons in Tunisia.
In parallel, both countries continue to work towards strengthening tourist flows through promoting destinations and training specialized personnel.
