Wahid Laabidi Elected as President of the World Islamic Scout Union and Youth
Wahid Laabidi, President of the Higher Council of Tunisian Scouts, was elected yesterday, Monday, as the head of the World Islamic Scout Union and Youth, during the meetings of the Global Islamic Scout Committee. The Tunisian scouts, through their official Facebook page, described this election as a historic precedent. Wahid Laabidi becomes the second president in the history of this organization, after having served as its vice-president. This appointment confirms the prominent position occupied by Tunisia and its active role in supporting and strengthening the Arab and Islamic scout movement. According to the same source, this success crowns Wahid Laabidi's distinguished scouting career, marked by constant commitment, and constitutes a recognition of his major contributions to the development of scouting at the national and regional levels. This consecration took place during the meeting of the Islamic Scout Committee, held in Mecca from December 13 to 17, 2025. Representatives of member Islamic scout organizations gathered to discuss an ambitious agenda aimed at unifying efforts and strengthening common cooperation.
