Tunisian Consumer Protection Organization Warns of Exploitative Visa Services
Lotfi Riahi, President of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Orientation, stated on Tuesday that "services provided by private intermediation companies to process visa applications, including appointment scheduling, document collection, and submission, can cost over 1,000 dinars." He emphasized that "these practices have become a serious problem."
During his radio interview, Riahi explained that "travel agencies collaborate with intermediation companies that handle all administrative procedures. As a result, citizens are left to bear increasingly high financial costs in exchange for promises of better service quality and faster processing times."
It is worth noting that the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Orientation has denounced the proliferation of abuses related to visa application services provided by private intermediation companies in a statement. The organization has also warned against growing financial charges and dysfunction that undermine principles of transparency, fair competition, and data protection.
