Incident of Violence at Avicenne University Restaurant

The Avicenne (Ibn Sina) university restaurant in Sousse was the scene of a regrettable incident of violence between several students on Tuesday evening, October 14, 2025, during dinner, resulting in one of them being injured in the face. Video sequences showing part of the events that occurred in the university restaurant have circulated on social media. The director of the Avicenne university campus, Ridha Kherchfi, explained in a statement on the "Sabah Ennes" show that the incident began with a verbal altercation between two students during meal distribution, before escalating into an exchange of violence and chair-throwing, with the participation of a number of friends from both parties. Mr. Kherchfi specified that the dispute arose when a student brought a meal to his friend who was suffering from a fracture, and then returned to queue to take his own meal. Another student then believed that he had cut in line, which triggered the altercation. He added that his rapid intervention put an end to the confrontation, confirming that the competent authorities had been informed and that an investigation had been opened into the incident.
