Tunisia Launches New Investment Facility for Employment (IFE) Call for Projects

The Investment Facility for Employment (IFE) has announced the launch of a new call for projects in Tunisia, open to private companies, public organizations, and non-profit organizations, with the possibility of benefiting from co-financing subsidies for projects aimed at creating jobs in the private sector.

The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to June 1, 2026, as part of a framework that emphasizes the "Job Creation" aspect. This aims to support investments capable of generating sustainable jobs in Tunisia and removing investment barriers, particularly through the financing of equipment, production units, skill development, and workforce training related to recruitment needs.

The IFE structures this call for projects around four main categories. Non-profit projects without revenue generation can benefit from co-financing up to 90% of investment costs. Those generating revenue are supported up to 75%.

Profit-making projects where the majority of jobs are created within third-party entities can obtain up to 35% financing, while those primarily creating jobs within the candidate entity can be co-financed up to 25%.

Subsidies awarded under the "Job Creation" aspect vary between €800,000 and €10 million per project. The IFE specifies that it only finances mature projects that have not yet been launched, with realistic prospects for operational and financial viability, within a mechanism based on financial participation from project owners.

In 2026, a new aspect will complement this framework with strengthened support for training. Candidates can now seek co-financing for actions aimed at improving workforce qualifications, primarily oriented towards the Tunisian labor market, with perspectives for opening up to employment opportunities in Germany.

This training aspect prioritizes several sectors, including construction and public works, metal and electrical industries, education and social affairs, food and beverage industries, transportation and logistics, information technologies, and hospitality and catering.

Eligible activities include the construction and equipment of training infrastructure, linguistic training, and technical upgrading adapted to labor market needs. Concept notes incorporating this aspect will receive priority treatment during dossier evaluation.

Applications for projects in Tunisia can be submitted from March 20 to June 1, 2026.
