Tunisian Solidarity Bank Allocates 40 Million Dinars for Small Farmers
Mohamed Ali Nhidi, Central Financing Director at the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS), announced on Thursday that a financing line of 40 million dinars has been mobilized for the benefit of small farmers. These campaign credits are granted without guarantees, with a fixed interest rate and simplified procedures (one application, proof of ownership of an olive grove, and a copy of the CIN).
New Measures to Facilitate Access to Financing
Four new measures have come into effect this week to facilitate access to this financing:
- Increased Credit Ceiling: The maximum loan amount has been increased from 15,000 to 20,000 dinars, allowing farmers to better cover their seasonal expenses.
- Accelerated File Processing: The study period for applications has been reduced to just 5 days, ensuring a rapid response to the urgent needs of the season.
- Removal of Age Limit: The maximum age condition, which was set at 65 years, has been removed, opening up credit to all farmers without distinction.
- Expansion to Liberal Professions: Farmers who also practice a liberal profession can now benefit from this financing line, provided they own an olive farm.
Strong Demand for Financing
The official highlighted during his intervention on Jawhara FM that the pace of financing is currently very sustained and that interest in these loans is massive. He recalled that this device specifically targets small operators (owning 1, 2, or 3 hectares) and that the procedure requires no administrative complications, except for proof of ownership or exploitation of the land.
