Unidentified Drone Incursions into European Airspace Spark NATO Military Exercises
The incursion of unidentified drones into the airspace of nine European countries has prompted the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to conduct extensive military exercises, covering aerial, land, maritime, and cyber domains, with the participation of F-35 and Typhoon fighter jets.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has described this phenomenon as a deliberate "grey war" against Europe, announcing a plan by 2030 to build a technological wall capable of detecting and destroying drones.
Germany has approved a law authorizing the police to shoot down unidentified drones. Meanwhile, European countries are accusing Russia of being responsible, which Moscow formally denies.
