UK Visa System to Go Fully Digital from 25 February 2026
The British Embassy in Tunis announced that the United Kingdom’s immigration system will become completely digital starting 25 February 2026.
“From now on, all visitors who need a visa to travel to the UK will receive only an eVisa, replacing the traditional visa stickers that were placed in passports.
Travelers will have to create an account on the UKVI website to view their eVisa before departure,” the embassy stated in a press release posted on its official Facebook page on Friday, 20 February 2026.
What the new system means
- Simplified access – Applicants can check their visa status and details online at any time.
- Fully digital experience – No paper stickers, no passport stamps; everything is stored electronically.
- Enhanced security – Digital verification reduces the risk of fraud and streamlines border checks.
The measure applies to all travelers visiting the United Kingdom and is part of the broader digital‑modernisation agenda of British immigration services.
