Two Tunisian Students Represent Tunisia at the 9th Arab Reading Challenge

Two Tunisian students, twin sisters Bissane and Bilsane Kouka, are representing Tunisia at the 9th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge (ARC), organized by the United Arab Emirates. Bissane and Bilsane Kouka are in 6th grade of primary education and attend the 8 February 1958 school in Sakiet Sidi Youssef, in the Kef governorate. The 2025 edition of the Arab Reading Challenge has recorded a record participation: 32,231 thousand students from 132,112 schools in 50 countries, according to the organizers. The winners will be announced on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Dubai. The competition includes four awards:

  • the Excellent School Award
  • the Champions Award
  • the Distinguished Supervisor Award
  • the Community Champions Award Launched in 2015, this annual competition is organized by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, named after the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The ARC challenges students to read as many books as possible (over 50) during a school year. Students register for the Arab Reading Challenge through their schools and supervisors.
