Tragic Road Accident Occurs in Sidi Bennour, Monastir Governorate
A tragic road accident took place this evening on the ring road surrounding the town of Sidi Bennour, in the Monastir governorate. The accident, which involved two family cars, claimed the lives of two children aged 13 and 6 and injured their father.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragedy occurred when a rental car from Mahdia attempted a prohibited overtaking maneuver at high speed in a curve, colliding head-on with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction towards Sidi Bennour. On board the latter car was a father accompanied by his two children.
The accident resulted in the immediate death of the two children, while their father was seriously injured. The driver of the rental car, as well as three young men and an Italian passenger who accompanied him, suffered minor injuries.
Units from the civil protection services quickly intervened to transport the bodies of the victims and the injured to hospitals in the region.
