Tunisia and Saudi Arabia Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Diplomatic Training Cooperation
Tunisia and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training between the International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis and the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement, signed under the supervision of Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti and his Saudi counterpart, Fayez Bin Farhan, who is currently on a working visit to Tunis, aims to develop the exchange of expertise, organize training sessions, and strengthen the capacities of diplomats from both countries.
On this occasion, the two ministers co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Tunisian-Saudi political follow-up and consultation committee at the ministry's headquarters, in the presence of delegations from both countries. The discussions focused on the overall bilateral cooperation relations as well as regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the situation in Gaza and the Palestinian cause.
Mohamed Ali Nafti emphasized the depth of Tunisian-Saudi relations and the willingness of both countries to give them new momentum, in line with the orientations of Tunisian President Kais Saied and Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, as well as Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman. He also stressed the importance of properly preparing for the next session of the joint commission, scheduled to take place before the end of 2025.
The Tunisian minister called for the intensification of investment partnerships, the development of trade exchanges, and the promotion of tourism and cooperation in the fields of education, health, and transportation.
For his part, Fayez Bin Farhan praised the "historical and solid" relations between Tunis and Riyadh, while calling for a common vision to strengthen cooperation and follow up on the implementation of ongoing development projects. He also emphasized the need for increased consultation to contribute to peace and stability in the region.
