Tunisia's Office of Tunisians Abroad to Launch AI-Powered Digital Platform for Expats

The Office of Tunisians Abroad (OTE) will launch a digital platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology for Tunisians living abroad this year, announced Hélmi Tlili, the head of the OTE's management office on Thursday.

This new platform will enable members of the Tunisian diaspora, regardless of their location, to access information and updates on investment opportunities in Tunisia, as well as receive quick answers to questions about procedures, opportunities, and support services available.

The announcement was made during a regional meeting organized by the Bizerte governorate in collaboration with the OTE's regional representation, focusing on logistical, organizational, and administrative preparations to ensure the best possible welcome for Tunisians living abroad from the region.

As part of its digital transformation strategy, the OTE has also undertaken the modernization of its website to transform it into an integrated portal bringing together various services and information for Tunisians abroad and investors.

According to Hélmi Tlili, this initiative responds to the expectations expressed by the Tunisian community abroad and aims to strengthen trust in the Tunisian administration by simplifying procedures and improving the quality of services related to investment.

The head of the OTE's management office emphasized that the OTE now plays a role as a "single point of contact" responsible for receiving requests from Tunisians living abroad, coordinating with relevant administrations, and ensuring the follow-up of files to accelerate the processing of administrative procedures.

He also announced the creation of an "investor space" at the OTE's headquarters, as well as a dedicated space for social support for individuals facing difficulties related to migration, as part of the strengthening of assistance mechanisms for Tunisians established abroad.

Referring to the "return strategy," Hélmi Tlili indicated that a regional conference on direct investment and the promotion of investment opportunities will be organized in July in Bizerte, in coordination with regional authorities, as part of the orientations of the 2026-2030 development plan.

The head of the OTE's management office also assured that the OTE will continue its program of supporting travel tickets for families wishing to return to Tunisia, regardless of their country of residence, while continuing to guarantee social support and defense of rights in host countries.

These initiatives are part of the national strategy aimed at strengthening financial transfers, investments, and transfers of skills and expertise in favor of Tunisia, he concluded.
