Tunisian Quran Reciter Wins First Prize in Full Memorization Competition in Dakar

Dakar, —  Tunisian reciter Mouadh Raboudi secured the first prize for complete memorization of the Holy Qur’an at a competition held in Dakar. The event attracted candidates from 15 countries, according to a communiqué released on Wednesday on the official page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad.

Jury Participation

The competition, organized by the Islamic Institute of Dakar (IIS) during the first week of the holy month of Ramadan, also featured Sheikh Mourad Jedli – an imam, preacher, and teacher of Qur’anic recitation rules and rites – as a member of the jury.

“This distinction highlights the excellence of Tunisia in international Qur’an memorization competitions,” the communiqué quoted Sheikh Mourad Jedli as saying.

Diplomatic Reception

Rachid Saïdani, Tunisia’s ambassador to Dakar, welcomed both the first‑place laureate Mouadh Raboudi and the imam‑preacher Mourad Jedli, underscoring the significance of the achievement for Tunisian cultural and religious representation abroad.
