Official Complaint Filed in Abdelkader Dhibi Case
The Tunisian National Bar Association has officially announced, after receiving a mandate from the family of the late Abdelkader Dhibi, who was killed by French police gunfire in Marseille, the filing of a complaint and the monitoring of investigations conducted by French authorities.
Statement from the President of the Bar Association
The President of the Bar Association, Hatem Mezou, specified in a phone interview on Jawhara Fm that a group of Tunisian lawyers practicing in France, mandated by the Bar Association, will volunteer to "shed light on this case and defend the rights of the deceased's heirs," recalling that this approach is part of the national duty of the profession.
Denouncing Defamatory Publications
Me Mezou denounced the defamatory publications by certain French media, considering them unacceptable and damaging to the image of Tunisia and Tunisians.
Individual Initiative and Professional Ethics
When asked about the individual initiative of lawyer Mounir Ben Salha, who had traveled to Marseille to file a complaint, he stated that he was not aware of this approach, while emphasizing that "any action aimed at defending a just cause is welcome, but must respect the law, professional ethics, and have a mandate from the deceased's family, even in the case of a voluntary approach."
