Tunisian Diplomat Mohamed Ben Youssef Appointed Director General of Afro-Arab Cultural Institute
The Tunisian diplomat Mohamed Ben Youssef has been appointed Director General of the Afro-Arab Cultural Institute (ICAA), headquartered in Bamako. His appointment is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and integration between African and Arab countries, according to a statement published on the Institute's official website.
With over thirty years of diplomatic experience, Mohamed Ben Youssef expressed his pride in leading this prestigious international institution. He emphasized that this appointment reflects the vision of African and Arab leaders to promote solidarity, integration, and sustainable development between the two regions.
The new Director General announced that his priorities will include strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding, as well as supporting intellectual and educational exchanges between African and Arab peoples. He specified that the Institute's activities will focus on increasing its visibility and influence, while highlighting the role of culture and arts as vectors of dialogue and integration.
Mohamed Ben Youssef also indicated that future programs will aim to support the rapprochement of ideas, education, and knowledge, considered essential levers for progress, prosperity, and regional cooperation. This mission will be conducted in close coordination with African and Arab states, and in partnership with cultural organizations working to strengthen ties between the two regions.
Established in 2002 by the African Union and the Arab League, the Afro-Arab Cultural Institute aims to develop cooperation and intensify cultural exchanges between Africa and the Arab world, while contributing to the promotion of mutual understanding and sustainable development.
