Tunisian Engineer Brahim Houla Elected President of the Global Accreditation Organization (Globac)
Tunisian engineer Brahim Houla has been elected president of the Global Accreditation Organization (Globac) during the organization's general assembly held this Thursday in Thailand. According to a statement published on the official page of the Tunisian National Accreditation Council (TUNAC), Brahim Houla becomes the first Arab and African to access the presidency of this international body. The Council also specified that Globac will succeed the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), as part of a merger process aimed at strengthening global cooperation in conformity assessment and accreditation. This new entity aims to replace the two existing structures, which are global reference bodies for the accreditation of laboratories, certification bodies, and inspection bodies. The goal is to create a single structure for accreditation on a global scale. Prior to this election, Brahim Houla held several positions within the Tunisian National Accreditation Council, where he actively contributed to promoting international quality standards and mutual recognition of certifications.
