Meeting Between Tunisian and Algerian Officials to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
The President of the National Council of Regions and Districts (CNRD), Imed Derbali, received the Algerian Ambassador to Tunisia, Azzouz Baalal, on Monday at the Council's headquarters in Bardo.

The meeting focused on examining ways to strengthen economic, energy, and border integration between the two countries, as well as facilitating bilateral exchanges.
According to a statement from the CNRD, Imed Derbali welcomed the solidity of Tunisian-Algerian relations, marked by sincere solidarity and ongoing cooperation, both in difficult times and during periods of development and construction. He emphasized that these relations go beyond the simple bilateral framework to be part of a common Maghreb and Arab vision, based on cooperation, integration, and sustainable development.
Cooperation and Development
Derbali also stressed the need to intensify parliamentary cooperation, particularly within the framework of the CNRD's new experience, which opens up broad prospects for exchanges with the Algerian National Council in terms of sharing experiences and coordinating positions on issues of common interest.
For his part, Ambassador Azzouz Baalal praised the solidity of relations between the two countries, reaffirming the willingness of Algerian deputies to establish bridges of cooperation and consultation with their Tunisian counterparts. He emphasized that these efforts aim to translate the proximity between the leaders and governments of the two countries into the parliamentary field.
Progress and Future Plans
The Ambassador also highlighted the notable evolution of Algerian-Tunisian relations since 2021, illustrated by the progress of Tunisian exports to Algeria, while calling for the transformation of shared ideas into concrete actions. Finally, he mentioned the upcoming common deadlines, including the holding before the end of the year of the works of the Tunisian-Algerian Mixed Commission for Cooperation.
