Tunisia welcomes its first Chinese investment in automotive cables

Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines Inaugurates New Automotive Cable Manufacturing Unit

The Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, inaugurated a new automotive cable manufacturing unit on Monday, marking the first Chinese investment of its kind in Tunisia and outside of China. The Minister highlighted the promising potential of the automotive components sector, which represents a significant job creation lever. This unit is expected to generate around 1,000 jobs, thereby consolidating Tunisia's position as a reference industrial platform in Africa and the Mediterranean, according to Al Arabiya.
