Un léger recul du taux de chômage en Tunisie au premier trimestre 2026

According to the latest indicators published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Friday, the unemployment rate in Tunisia has slightly decreased to 15% in the first quarter of 2026, down from 15.2% in the previous quarter.
Despite this slight improvement in the labor market, the situation of higher education graduates continues to deteriorate. Their unemployment rate has increased to 24.2% in the first quarter of 2026, up from 22.5% in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The disparities between men and women remain particularly marked. The unemployment rate among graduates is estimated at 14.2% for men, compared to 32% for women.
The INS data also show a decrease in the total number of unemployed individuals, from 645,200 to 641,700 people, while the number of employed individuals has increased by 16,500 jobs to reach 3.626 million workers.
Youth unemployment, aged 15 to 24, has also slightly decreased to 37.5%, down from 38.4% in the previous quarter.
