Two Successful Organ Transplant Operations Performed in Tunisia
Two new organ transplant operations were successfully carried out this week in Tunisia, giving a new lease on life to five patients, thanks to the generosity of two donors and the coordination of the National Center for the Promotion of Organ Transplantation.
First Operation
The first intervention took place on October 21 at Ben Arous, from a 72-year-old donor. The operation was conducted in partnership with La Rabta and Mongi Slim hospitals in La Marsa.
Second Operation
The second transplant was performed on October 22 at the Ibn Jazzar University Hospital in Kairouan, from a 42-year-old donor, in collaboration with several public institutions: Sahloul Hospital in Sousse, Habib Bourguiba Hospital in Sfax, Charles Nicolle Hospital, and the Tunis Military Hospital.
A Success Story
These two operations illustrate the success of the coordination between medical teams and the strength of the national transplantation network. They also reflect the spirit of solidarity and humanity of families who, despite the pain of loss, have chosen to give hope to other lives.
Ministry of Health Statement
The Ministry of Health praised the dedication of the medical teams involved, as well as the noble gesture of the donors and their loved ones, recalling that organ donation remains "a supreme act of generosity that can save several lives".
