Tunisia Investment Authority Reaffirms Commitment to Fostering Investment Ecosystem

The Tunisia Investment Authority (TIA) reaffirmed, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, its commitment to facilitating the emergence of a favorable investment ecosystem in Tunisia, relying on inspiring public-private partnerships and high-potential niches, such as data centers. This statement was made during the 22nd session of the TIA's Strategic Council, held on Tuesday in Tunis.

Key Discussion Topics

According to a statement released by the Authority, this session focused on two main themes:

  • The role of the private sector in developing reforms and legislation
  • Analyzing investment opportunities in data centers

Presentation on Dubai's Experience

Presenting Dubai's experience, Nadin Chami, Director of the Political Advocacy Department at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, outlined the public-private collaboration mechanisms in place in the emirate. She emphasized the importance of structured private sector involvement in developing public policies.

Legislative Revisions in Dubai

She noted that 107 legislative texts were revised in Dubai in 2024, with a 58% acceptance rate of proposals from businesses. These revisions were accompanied by targeted studies (governance of family businesses, protection of minors, support for national entrepreneurs, etc.) and coordination with 17 government agencies.

Inspiration for Tunisia

For the TIA, this inspiring model paves the way for better integration of the Tunisian private sector into the design of national reforms.

Strategic Watch on Data Centers

The second part of the session was dedicated to a strategic watch on data centers, conducted by the TIA team based on sectoral data and international comparative analyses.

Investment Acceleration in Data Centers

Participants noted a strong acceleration of global investments in data centers, with invested amounts multiplied by twenty since 2016. They recommended:

  • Modernizing the legal framework for data protection
  • Developing renewable energies to power data centers
  • Strengthening international connectivity through new undersea cables
  • Creating a special economic zone dedicated to cloud and data centers

Objective

The objective is to strengthen Tunisia's attractiveness in this strategic sector.
