The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received, on Friday, October 17, at the Carthage Palace, the President of the Assembly of People's Representatives, Ibrahim Bouderbala, and the President of the National Council of Districts and Regions, Imed Derbali.

The Head of State affirmed that he is closely following the evolution of the situation in this region, emphasizing that the environmental crisis cannot be treated with "classic approaches". He announced that urgent and immediate solutions are being developed, pending the implementation of a comprehensive strategy dedicated to Gabès and all regions of the country.
Support for the People of Gabès
Kaïs Saïed praised the maturity of the Tunisian people and paid tribute to the inhabitants of Gabès, citing as an example a woman from the region who urged protesters to lift roadblocks. He called on citizens to support the security forces in dealing with those who try to exploit the situation for personal gain.
National Determination
Finally, the President reaffirmed Tunisia's determination to overcome its challenges based on its own national capabilities, while denouncing the maneuvers of certain foreign parties seeking to hinder the progress made.
