Tunisia's Dam Fill Rate Reaches 28.0%

The fill rate of dams in Tunisia has reached 28.0% to date, representing a volume of 661.695 million cubic meters, according to data published this Friday by the Tunisian Water Observatory. This figure marks a significant increase compared to the same period in 2024, when the rate was only 21.6%, equivalent to 507.392 million m³. This represents a gain of over 154 million m³ in one year. This improvement in water reserves is mainly due to the abundant rainfall that has fallen in recent days, particularly in the north and northwest of the country, where the main Tunisian dams are located. The authorities hope that this trend will continue in order to mitigate the effects of the persistent drought that has been affecting Tunisia for several years.
