Tunisia Prepares to Launch Third-Largest Supercomputer in Africa
Tunisia is gearing up to launch the third-largest supercomputer in Africa, enabling researchers to develop their research as part of a partnership with the People's Republic of China.
In a statement made today on national radio, on the sidelines of the "Al-Khawarizmi Tour" (Joulat Al-Khawarizmi) event hosted by the City of Sciences in Tunis, the chief of staff of the Minister of Higher Education indicated that this supercomputer will be operational in the coming weeks, specifying that it will be made available to researchers from all sectors.
He added that this supercomputer will bring about a qualitative leap in the development of Tunisian research in the field of artificial intelligence, emphasizing that information storage will be done in Tunisia to protect all Tunisian research productions and personal data, as part of the reinforcement of national sovereignty in scientific research.
He recalled that all equipment related to this computer is available and that installation work is currently underway for commissioning in the coming weeks.
