Tunisia Participates in International Medical Tourism Congress in Turkey
Tunisia, represented by its ambassador to Ankara, Ahmed Ben Sghaier, participated in the first edition of the International Medical Tourism Congress, held in the city of Izmir, Turkey, on November 21 and 22, 2025, under the theme "Health Diplomacy and Innovation".
Opening Speech
In his opening speech, the ambassador presented the advantages of medical and therapeutic tourism in Tunisia and its various specificities, according to a statement published on the official page of the embassy. Ahmed Ben Sghaier highlighted that Tunisia has become a recognized destination for the quality of its modern medical care provided in all its public and private sector structures, as well as the high level of its medical and paramedical personnel.
Tunisia's Strategic Position
He also emphasized Tunisia's privileged geographical position, making it a popular destination for foreign visitors seeking medical care and wellness. The participation in this congress, according to the official page of the Tunisian embassy in Ankara, is part of the ongoing efforts to promote Tunisian medical tourism and wellness on the Turkish market and in neighboring markets, particularly after the organization of the "Tunisia Day for Medical and Therapeutic Tourism" event in Istanbul.

On the occasion of the Turkish-Arab Economic Cooperation Forum, held from October 14 to 17, 2025, the Tunisian embassy in Ankara also organized a forum to promote Tunisian medical and therapeutic tourism on October 15, 2025, in Istanbul, under the theme "Tunisian-Turkish Cooperation in the Field of Medical and Therapeutic Tourism". This event, which was attended by many Turkish and Arab businessmen, private sector representatives, professionals, experts, and associations active in this field, provided an important opportunity to promote Tunisia as a reference destination for medical and therapeutic tourism.
