Tunisia Participates in the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT)

Tunisia is taking part in the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, from September 7 to 10. The country is represented by a delegation led by Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, accompanied by the Tunisian Ambassador to China, Adel Arbi.

Highlights of the Event

On the sidelines of the fair, the Minister participated in the 23rd session of the Union of Investment Promotion Agencies, where he highlighted Tunisia's competitive advantages to encourage investment, as well as bilateral and multilateral agreements that allow investors to access large markets, including European and African ones.

He also attended the 7th edition of the Maritime Silk Road International Cooperation Forum, where he affirmed Tunisia's willingness to develop its maritime transport infrastructure and reiterated its commitment to participating in all initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation in this field, given its major role in the development of global trade and the promotion of growth and development.

Meetings and Visits

During the event, Abdelhafidh held several meetings with high-level Chinese officials, as well as exchanges with representatives of countries, UN agencies, and regional organizations participating in the fair. He also visited several Chinese companies operating in various sectors, including the manufacture of batteries for electric motors, bus construction, and infrastructure, in addition to visiting several stands of Chinese and foreign companies participating in the fair.

Expression of Interest

Abdelhafidh expressed his wish to see Chinese investments in Tunisia develop and diversify further, demonstrating the country's interest in strengthening economic ties with China.
