Security Services Fully Mobilized to Enforce Presidential Initiative

Security services are fully mobilized to enforce the presidential initiative to reduce the price of lamb meat to 40 dinars per kilo, announced Makram Menssi, commander of the regional brigade of the municipal police in Ben Arous.

Speaking on National Radio on Wednesday, Menssi indicated that several suppliers have voluntarily committed to applying this measure, which exclusively concerns locally produced meat. This initiative aims to combat the surge in red meat prices, particularly in a context of pressure on consumers' purchasing power.

On the other hand, Lotfi Riahi, president of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Defense, recently estimated that the profit margin of butchers can reach up to 34 dinars per kilogram of meat, highlighting the importance of this state intervention. He welcomed the progressive adherence of many professionals in the sector to this approach.

Economic control services, in coordination with law enforcement, are continuing monitoring operations to ensure compliance with price ceilings in distribution channels.
