Tunisian President Receives Saudi Foreign Minister

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received His Highness Prince Fayçal ben Farhane ben Abdallah Al Saoud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on an official visit to Tunisia, at the Carthage Palace on Tuesday, September 9.

Historical Ties and Bilateral Cooperation

The Head of State began the meeting by recalling the depth of historical ties between the two brotherly peoples, citing several key stages in Tunisian-Saudi relations before and after independence. According to a statement released on the official page of the Presidency of the Republic, the discussion also focused on the state of bilateral cooperation and the common desire to strengthen and develop it in all areas, while working to remove existing obstacles to accelerate the implementation of ongoing projects.

A "New Sykes-Picot" in the Region

Moreover, President Saïed emphasized that the delicate situation currently facing the Arab and Muslim nations is equivalent to a "new Sykes-Picot" in the region. After the division of Arab peoples into several states, the Zionist movement, he said, now seeks to annihilate the very existence of these states. He called for concerted efforts to thwart this criminal plan.

Support for the Palestinian People

The President of the Republic reaffirmed, in this context, the constant position of the Tunisian people in favor of the right of the Palestinian people to recover all of Palestine and establish their independent, fully sovereign state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He denounced the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy forces, in full view of the world, which not only aim to exterminate through hunger, systematically target children, women, and the elderly, and deprive them of even a drop of water, but also seek to break the will to liberate – an endeavor doomed to fail, according to him.

Rejection of Forced Displacement

Kaïs Saïed also reiterated his categorical rejection of the attempts at forced displacement imposed by the Zionist forces. "The land of Palestine is neither a domain nor an orchard," he insisted, affirming that the peoples attached to liberation will triumph regardless of the sacrifices made.

A New Legitimacy Emerging

Furthermore, he highlighted that the free peoples of the world are currently forging a new legitimacy, which will eventually replace an international legitimacy that has become obsolete and fragile. The multiplying demonstrations around the world to denounce Zionist extermination crimes testify, according to him, to this process, which will lead to the emergence of a new, universal legitimacy based on freedom and emancipation.
