President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Travels to Algeria

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, departed Tunis on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, bound for Algiers, at the invitation of his counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The Head of State will attend the opening of the fourth edition of the African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), a major economic event aimed at promoting intra-African trade and strengthening cooperation between countries on the continent.
The Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zanzeri, the Governor of Tunis, Imed Boukhris, the Secretary General in charge of managing the municipality of Tunis, Lotfi Dachraoui, as well as members of the presidential cabinet were present at the airport to bid farewell to the Head of State before his departure.
This trip illustrates the shared desire of Tunisia and Algeria to consolidate their strategic partnership and defend a shared vision, based on unity, solidarity, and respect for national sovereignty. President Saïed has consistently emphasized Tunisia's attachment to its African identity and its commitment to South-South cooperation, seen as a key lever for prosperity and development for the peoples of the continent.
As a reminder, President Saïed's last visit to Algeria dates back to October-November 2024, when he participated, alongside President Tebboune, in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Revolution, a symbolic moment of shared memory and fraternity between the two nations.
