Mixed Maritime Line between Livorno (Italy) and La Goulette

A mixed maritime line (passengers and freight) between Livorno (Italy) and La Goulette could soon become a reality, following a Tunisian proposal presented during a working session held on December 11 in Livorno. The President of the Port Authority of Livorno, Davide Gariglio, welcomed this initiative favorably. In the presence of the Tunisian Consul in Rome, Marouane Kablouti, he suggested that the Tunisian Shipping Company (CTN) be responsible for operating this line, which would be an asset for the national company.

On its social media, the Tunisian Consulate in Rome emphasizes that this proposal is part of the common will of both parties to implement the memorandum of understanding signed in 2016 between the Port Authority of Livorno and the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports (OMMP). Discussions also focused on concrete measures in terms of maritime security, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and professional training.

The participants also examined the feasibility of a "Green Corridor" connecting Livorno to Tunisian ports, as part of projects related to ecological and digital transition. On the sidelines of this visit, the Tunisian Consul in Rome, Marouane Kablouti, visited the commercial representation office of the CTN in Livorno, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. He praised its efforts and called for strengthening its presence abroad to better defend the company's interests.
