Minister of Health Inaugurates New Hemodialysis Unit in Aïn Draham

The Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, inaugurated a new hemodialysis unit in Aïn Draham, in the Jendouba governorate, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the presence of the regional governor and several healthcare sector officials.

Key Features of the New Unit

This new structure, attached to the local hospital in Aïn Draham, represents a major achievement for the inhabitants of the mountainous region. Built at an estimated total cost of 1.5 million dinars, it has a capacity of ten beds and will enable regular hemodialysis sessions for more than 24 local patients, thus avoiding long trips to other establishments.

National Health Policy

The Minister emphasized that this project illustrates the national health justice policy implemented by the ministry, in line with the orientations of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, which aim to bring health services closer to citizens and improve the quality of care in all regions, particularly in inland areas.

Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure

This unit reinforces the hospital infrastructure in the northwest and is part of the Ministry of Health's strategy to modernize regional establishments and reduce disparities in access to specialized care.
