Tunisian Trio Wins African Pétanque Championship
The Tunisian triplet, composed of World Champion Khaled Bougriba, Karem Ben Hmida, Yassine Chelli, and Haythem Skandrani, has been crowned African Pétanque Champion in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The team, led by coach Brahim Ayari, won the title on Friday by defeating their Congolese counterparts with a score of 13-8 in the final. En route to the final, the Tunisian team had successively beaten Comoros in the quarterfinals and Senegal in the semifinals, with the same score (13-3). Meanwhile, Khaled Bougriba, it is worth noting, won the silver medal in the precision shooting event after losing to Mauritanian Amadou Traoré in the final.
