Tunisia Warns of Escalating Military Conflict in the Region
Tunisia expressed on Sunday its deep concern over the military escalation unfolding in the region, warning that a widening of the conflict could plunge the area into chaos. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad highlighted the serious repercussions this situation has for peace and security, both regionally and internationally.
In this particularly dangerous context, Tunisia reaffirmed its commitment to respecting the sovereignty of states and the integrity of their territories. It strongly condemned any aggression against a country, as well as any violation of its borders, and categorically rejected attacks directed at the territories of Arab nations.
The communiqué also underscored Tunisia’s full solidarity with several Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Iraq, amid a region marked by heightened tensions.
Faithful to its principles and its adherence to international law, Tunisia called on all parties to immediately cease military operations. It urged the adoption of dialogue and negotiations to prevent further escalation, protect human lives, and preserve the achievements of the peoples of the region.
Finally, Tunisia emphasized the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council, urging it to take the necessary measures to ensure the maintenance of international peace and security.
