Ceremony for the Second Ambassador's Scholarships Held at Confucius Institute
The ceremony for the second Ambassador's Scholarships took place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Confucius Institute of the University of Carthage, in the presence of high-ranking Tunisian and Chinese representatives.
Attendees and Participants
The ceremony was attended by:
- Mr. Wan Li, Ambassador of China to Tunisia
- Mr. Foufel Al-Ayachi, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural, Sports, and Social Activities at the Tunisian Ministry of Education
- Ms. Khadija El-Fourati, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching
- Mr. Hichem Massoudi, Director of the Higher Institute of Languages at the University of Carthage
- Ms. Wu Yang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute Nearly 100 teachers and students from 18 high schools in 5 Tunisian governorates offering Chinese courses participated in this event.
Awards and Recognition
This year, 39 Tunisian high school students received the Ambassador's Scholarships, while 3 teachers were awarded the Exemplary Teacher Prize, and 1 teacher was distinguished with the Special Contribution Prize.
Objective of the Event
The event aims to:
- Promote the teaching of Chinese in Tunisia
- Encourage academic excellence
- Strengthen cultural cooperation between Tunisia and China
