Tunisia Seeks to Build a Development Model Based on Innovation and Flexibility through Startups
Tunisia's Prime Minister, Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzeri, emphasized that the country is relying on startups to build a development model based on innovation and flexibility. This was announced during her participation in the "Africa Forward" summit, co-organized by Kenya and France, on May 11-12, 2026, in Nairobi.
During meetings with young Tunisian entrepreneurs based abroad and leaders of high-value-added startups, held at the University of Nairobi's economic forum, Zenzeri highlighted the importance of digital transformation in stimulating investment and improving the business climate. She noted that technological startups have a significant impact, with their solutions now being exported to international companies.
The Prime Minister stressed that Tunisia's startup sector stands out for its ability to attract talent and create jobs. She also stated that efforts are ongoing to improve the investment legislative framework to adapt to technological changes and build a development model based on innovation and flexibility.
Zenzeri also recalled that Tunisia has a solid position in global rankings for artificial intelligence (AI) usage, supported by a developed infrastructure and a favorable legal framework.
