Arrest of UGTT Leader
The public prosecutor's office near the Ben Arous court ordered, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the detention of Lassad Yacoubi, leader of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) and former secretary general of the General Federation of Secondary Education. He is being prosecuted in a case of speculation and illegal storage involving approximately 13 tons of potatoes discovered in a warehouse belonging to him, according to the National Radio.
