The Kuwaiti group Arabi Holding is considering expanding its activities in Tunisia, with a particular focus on the tourism, industry, and information technology sectors. This initiative was discussed during a meeting on September 22 between Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, and Salah Mohamed Saqr Al-Maousherji, CEO of Arabi Holding Group.
Strengthening Bilateral Economic Relations
During the meeting, the two parties explored opportunities for collaboration to strengthen the group's investments in Tunisia. Minister Abdelhafidh highlighted the country's competitive advantages, including its strategic location, skilled workforce, and tax incentives for foreign investors. He also assured government support to facilitate the implementation of the planned projects.
Founded in 1981, Arabi Holding Group is a Kuwaiti conglomerate operating in various sectors such as oil and gas, retail trade, investments, and construction. The group has an extensive network of agencies worldwide and is also a partner of Gulf Services & Industrial Supplies in Muscat, Oman, as well as a joint venture with the British company Furmanite International.
Targeted Sectors for Investment
The discussions focused on several key sectors for future investments. Tourism, with its growth potential and developing infrastructure, industry, particularly in special economic zones, and information technology, a rapidly expanding sector in Tunisia, were identified as priorities.
Minister Abdelhafidh emphasized the Tunisian government's commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. He mentioned recent reforms aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and strengthening transparency to attract more foreign investment. Support mechanisms, such as one-stop shops for investors, are also in place to facilitate the process.
